Roy, George, Katrena and Kirk were siblings. Roy was 12, then George, 11, Katrena, 9 and Kirk, 7. Every Saturday, they were allowed to go shopping by themselves.
One Saturday, they decided to go diving at the local water hole after shopping because the day was especially hot. The sun was high in the sky and the four of them were quite sweaty.
However, when they got to the water hole, the water was brown and icky.
“I think the rain stirred up the mud and dirt,” said Roy.
George agreed, saying, “Yeah, let’s go back.”
“We came all this way; we may as well do something!” argued Kirk. However, they did not know that Mr Crocodile had made his home there in that water hole.
“Now, now,” said Katrena comfortingly. “You don’t know what’s in there.” For right then, large air bubbles were coming up from the water.
“Yeah, I think Dad’s coming to pick us and our bikes up soon anyway,” said Roy. “We spent too much time at the gift sho– ”
Just then, a huge crocodile – and two baby crocodiles – rose out of the water. Kirk yelped and Katrena screeched, both in a most horrid manner, and Roy and George yelled, “RUN!” at the same time.
To their relief, a large dust cloud was driving towards them. DAD! The siblings jumped in the van and Dad roared off, leaving the crocodiles behind. They were safe.
