Follow Word Oysters magazine on Facebook

Following Word Oysters on Facebook is the easiest way to stay connected between issues, to be part of the ongoing life of the magazine, and part of our growing community.

I use the Facebook page to share things that genuinely support young writers and the adults around them: ideas to spark writing, insights and practical guides on creativity and writing, thoughtful ideas and suggestions, links to opportunities, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into how the magazine comes together. It’s not a polished, salesy style of Facebook page. I’m offering authentic connection as far as I can, aiming to keep you informed and in touch with what’s happening, as well as offering a real creative conversation.

When you follow the page, you can expect a mix of:

  • Creative sparks: original ideas and unique practical approaches and activities supporting writing craft;
  • Inspiration: beautiful lines, observations about writing, and examples from young writers;
  • Writing insights: gentle guidance about craft, voice, editing, and confidence;
  • Special resources: free or low-cost tools, services, activity guides, and ideas you can actually use;
  • Opportunities and competitions: when they’re relevant and genuinely worthwhile;
  • Insider magazine updates: what I’m reading, editing, planning, and thinking about;
  • Important dates & deadlines: submissions, publication announcements, and new issues;
  • Project news: updates as Word Oysters slowly grows and changes.

If you enjoy Word Oysters, following the Facebook page helps you stay close to the heart of the project. It’s the simplest way you can help support an independent, volunteer-run magazine for young, home educated writers.
