When it comes to learning, books are without a doubt better than computers. They are better for your brain development, your physical health, and your focus.
Firstly, studies show that it is better for children’s brain growth to use books when learning. Long amounts of time on computer screens can cause delays in learning and social skills. When you are reading a book, your imagination creates pictures in your mind of what you are reading. If watching something on a screen, you don’t have to imagine it.
Secondly, learning through books helps you focus better. When using a computer, it is easy to lose focus as there are more distractions such as notifications popping up all the time. While reading a book, you are using your senses more by feeling the book and the pen. With a computer, your brain has more things to process at once, such as flashing images, adverts, and different lights.
Finally, your bodily health is affected by using computers. If you stare at a screen for too long, your eyes may become red and blurry which makes you struggle to focus as well. When looking at a book, however, it is easier for the eyes to settle, since only the book and nothing else needs their attention. Sitting at a computer is not good for your posture and can give you neck and back problems. Radiation coming from the computer can also affect your health.
In conclusion, learning through books will help the brain’s development and will keep us more focused and physically healthy than learning by using computers.
