At present, Word Oysters lives primarily in digital form, which allows it to remain free and widely accessible. However, I am interested in exploring print copies as the magazine grows – not as a replacement, but as an extension. There’s no doubt that for young writers, seeing their work in print carries a particular kind of weight and validation.
Any move toward print will be thoughtful and incremental, balancing cost, access, and other considerations.
The possibility of offering Word Oysters as a print copy would, in the first instance, be dependent a minimum number of subscriptions. As the magazine is volunteer-run, funding would have to come from subscriptions to get the process up and running.
Updates about print options and future developments will be shared here.
