The world is covered by curtains of grey,
Hearts hard, minds blank, niggling thoughts pushed away.
Won’t you see? In those sweet, dark, loving eyes?
Won’t you feel their story? Sufferers of lies;
Those eyes tell a story – I too feel pain!
We must think, and feel, and use our smart brains.
Mother Earth has enough; this is her creed,
Until we get caught up in our dark greed.
Please do not forget: all lives are sacred;
Why should they be symbols of our hatred?
We are all children of the one great Source:
Human, cat, dog, goat, lamb, cow, pig, and horse.
You can stop, you can regret, you can change;
Be strong, rise up, let’s all help end their pain.
