WWI

by Isvara Larwood (age 10)

Over the top the enemy goes
Into no man’s land as shots echo
Bombs rumble
Machine guns screech
As bullets fly
Men die.
Many a man is felled by their foe
A sniper shot?
Or a bayonet’s blow?
Men are cut down as mud flows
Surrounded by the bullet’s woe.
